I do not have any extension tubes, but would buy with AF function. I wanted to know if it would benefit a macro lens or is it for regular lens only. Thank you
Tubes are used for both types of lens. The benefit is increased magnification.

Without a doubt. Seems to be quite the influx of used Canon sets on eBay lately. Typically going for half the price of new. I recently got a set in very good shape for $75.
For extremely small items, such as insect eggs, I use (up to) 68-mm of Auto-Extension tubes on my Nikkor 105-mm macro lens. This provides up to 2:1 magnification (2x life-size).
