my first true macro?

while profiling the noise characteristics of my d7100 i noticed something extra in an image

raising the mirror and rolling back the shutter i found a fruit fly stuck to my sensor.

Since the fly is 1:1 at the focal plane, does this qualify me for admission to the macro forum?

That would be a 1:1 capture. Let's see the picture.....

Not what I expected to see. I would have guessed it would have been at least an 1/10 to 1/8 of a frame across. Puzzled as to why the the fly is so small. Dust seems like it is 1:1 when on the sensor.

How did you clean the bugger off?

i called it a fruit fly cause it was so small, was definitly a fly of some kind, wings, legs and all.

blew it off with squeeze bulb; thank goodness no gooey mess.

Some people will go to the most extreme lengths to capture a true macro-photograph.

Yeah, I know. We're supposed to capture and release. Guess the shutter curtains are what did him in.
