I returned for better light, at dusk

I had been here earlier in the day at about 1pm, but the light just wasn't right. So I returned at dusk, while the sun was setting in the west. Now these were taken just minutes apart, but you can see the difference in the light against the trees.

BOTH are spectacular! You can really see the sunset reflection in the trees! Fabulous! Well done, well done!

Great shots Jon. It never ceases to amaze me how fast a sunrise increases in intensity and then fades just as fast. I've actually had to stop along the highway to shoot some photos of spectacular sunsets that I would have missed just 5 minutes later.

Believe it or not, I use a Fuji HS20 EXR, with a fixed 30X 24mm to 720mm lense. The photo was taken in the EXR setting, High ISO Low Noise.

the first one was a fine photo with the light falling on the trees in the middle, but the 2nd photo was like popeye after a can of spinich. It really pops. 2nd one is a definite hang er up photo. good job!
