elements 12 and D600

Upgraded my camera and now find that Elements 10 doesn't support D600 raw files. I can't find a definitive "yes" or "no" on Adobe's site as to whether Elements 12 will work with D600 raw files or not. Anyone know?

Thanks
(sorry if this has been covered before, I've been "away" for quite a while)

The user guide for PSE 12 says to visit the Adobe website for supported raw file types. It does mention NEF:

"To use raw files, set your camera to save files in its own raw file format. When you download the files from the camera, they have filename extensions like NEF, CR2, CRW, or other raw formats. Photoshop Elements can open raw files only from supported cameras. Visit the Adobe website to view a list of supported cameras."

And on their web site, they talk about a "minimum raw camera plug-in required", and for the D600 the number is 7.3. But I'm not sure what this plug in is and where it comes from.

It does support the D600 and D610 files.

Elements 12 carries ACR 8.3 so there should be no problem.

there is a table for ACR version numbers together with supported cameras at http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

'fraid it does not.
The D600 needs a minimum ACR version 7.3
PSE 10 is compatible up to ACR version 6.7

The DNG converter would help (downloadable from the Adobe website, it is free) as you can edit the dng images just the same as raw files without having to worry about ACR version. Otherwise, you're looking at an upgrade to PSE 11 (compatible up to ACR 8.0) or PSE 12 (compatible up to ACR 8.3).

The version information can be found on
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
and

Every version of PSE ships with a certain version of ACR, the plug-in that makes it possible to work on your raw (nef) files and which installs automatically as part of PSE. It is updated more frequently than PSE itself to include the newest cameras on the market.
So, if you should upgrade to PSE12, all you have to do is install that program and you will be able to open your raw files just fine.

Adobe introduced support for your camera with the ACR 7.3 update but this update is not compatible with Elements 10. The latest ACR update compatible with Elements 10 is 6.7. You need Elements 11 or Elements 12.

Here are your options:

Elements 12 (This version is shipped with ACR 8.0; it can be updated to ACR 8.3, current update.)
Elements 11 (With the manual installation of ACR 8.2. Yes, you can successfully install this update in Elements 11).
DNG Converter 8.3

Adobe DNG Converter is a FREE utility; it converts your camera's proprietary Raw files into the DNG format. Once this has been done, you can open your files in Elements 10.

Searcher has the answer. I was using PSE11 and when I bought my D600, same problem. I used the DNG converter and then decided to buy PSE12. No problems now.

Read the question a little closer and you'll see that they are asking if PSE12 will support the camera.

And if you read my answer a little closer, you will see that it will: "So, if you should upgrade to PSE12, all you have to do is install that program and you will be able to open your raw files just fine." These raw files being the .nef files produced by the D600 camera.
