What condition is it in and how much? Do you have pictures?

It's in excellent condition. Do you want photos of the lens itself or photos I've taken using the lens?

The lens and how much? Do you have any problems between the 200 - 300 range?

Thanks for replying.

I don't have a photo of the lens, but that can be remedied soon enough. No problems whatsoever of any range with this lens. The only reason I'm not still using it is because I prefer the 100-400 for bird photography. It does not have a lens cap, but it has a Hoya UV filter for protection of the front of the lens. $300 is what I'm asking.

Reminds me of a guy I used to know years ago. He was a potential buyer(PB) looking at a car that was for sale. The Seller(S) was asking something like $1,500 for the car. PB says "would you take $600". S says "OK" to $600. PB says "I'll think about it". PB didn't understand why S was pissed.

You know, I have been keeping quite about snarky comments on this forum because I am new to it but when one is directed my way I cannot be quiet.
I live in a very high cost of living city in Arizona. I work as a firefighter and paramedic and do not make a lot of money to start with. If EdJ0307 new the entire story and the PM messages that I have exchanged with S maybe he would keep quiet. I fully intend to honor the S asking price because I feel that it is a very fair price. I am not trying to get cheap. I just need time to get the money together. So for the rest of the ones on this great forum that choose to write such posts, my advise is to keep quiet until you know the full story.

Skooters - hopefully this will work out. Regarding those that nitpick, particularly in the for-sale area, it's difficult but usually just best to completely ignore them. The drawback of this online environment is that anyone can say most anything and it's next to impossible to have the last word on a matter except to provide no response at all. Dixiegirl's asking price is very attractive. I sold the same model for slight more last year. The lens should work great with your 70D. I has posted some examples of my results at link: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-133782-1.html#2260405 all from cameras not as up to date as yours.

Thank you for that reply. I just could not help myself. I had to reply even though it is most likely just the reaction he was after. I was looking at the pictures on the forum the other day and did come across your link. I especially like the flower, the grass and the ducks. Good eye. Since I am just getting back into photography this forum has been great. The advice is plentiful on anything I can think of and the replies I have received are very quick.

Thanks again for the positive reply.

Scott

Skooters, I have a brand new EF 70-300 that I just got in a
bundle with my new 60D.. have not even broken the seal on it yet.. I was debating on whether to keep it or not as I have a couple of other lenses that are in the ballpark (EF 70-200 F4L non IS) and a canon 75-300mm (I know) so i'm not sure.. sounds like the $300 lense is a great deal anyway. Let me know if that other deal does not pan out.

Thanks for the comments skooters. Looks like I also demonstrated what happens when you miss another best practice for online forums: if someone is rushing you to get off the computer so we can leave, don't post without proofreading ... :-)

BigTee the overlap with my own 70-200 f/4L was one of the reasons I too sold the 70-300. I was only using it when I was out in situations where I knew I'd need those additional 100mm. I didn't think those situations were frequent enough. When you use a tripod the 75-300 works great as that's another lens I parted with last year. The IS lens gives much more flexibility for hand holding.

Last I knew..barter was still legal as is right to contract both buyer amd.seller can say yes or no to reach an agreement. Only a child would throw a tantrum about someone not agreeing with them. For those that get panties in a wad about those who offer less...just put it clearly in the add that you are firm on your price and will ignore any offers otherwise. How hard is that?
