Hi I'm wanting to upgrade my PC, for post production using Photoshop. I'm used with windows so don't really want to go over to Apple. I have been looking at the Lenovo B 750 all in one system. Because it's quite new I cant find any reviews, or much information about it apart from the 'spec' Has any members had or used this PC, It looks fantastic but at £1,199 I want to review before I commit.. Thanks for any help..
Jimmy

I'm also looking for a new PC but I don't want a desktop and currently looking at lenovo Thinkpad W530. I only want one computer, portable and obviously good color graphics . Supposedly has and integrated color calibrator. I don't mean to hijack but if anyone has any suggestions for a laptop. Yes 8 gig memory...

Hi Jimmy, looks a nice machine, lots of RAM, 29" IPS screen, Nvidea graphics etc. You may need to used to W8, although that's not a problem. I could not find any reviews but the Lenovo web site has all the info you need.
Cheers,
John.

If you do not mind a memory hog and a frame mad to resist WWIII you might want to look at the Alienware laptops made by Dell.

http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-18/pd.aspx

I have been using the MX17 since 2007 and it still draw circles around all other laptops. one thing I do not like: the crazy lights that need to turned off.

Screen: Calibrated but can also be redone using any calibration device
Memory? Up to 32
HDD: up to 3TB

Time 'alive' w/o power? One word: DON'T (last less than 20 minutes)

Using it in hotel rooms, cafes and the like. That thing is the tablet 'antichrist'.

I am considering upgrading to the 18 model but I have not yet found a backpack for that monster.

I jumped many years ago from PCs to Apple, about 10 years ago, and have never looked back. I would definitely recommend Apple especially with photography. Apple's graphics are superior to any PC or laptop windows based product, and I've had everything from IBM, toshiba, HP and Sony.

keep to desk top if you like PP its a lot easier to calibrate.
I am in the same place...looking at DINOPC.com they will build to your specs. I priced components and found that it was only £40 less (10% less and no guarantee it works when you put it together)

It was suggested that I use AMD chipset and to get a 'games' machine as they are built with much faster and better graphics. Also go with a small Hard Drive and use external drives for storage which will keep the speed up, The one i am going to buy works out at a little over £500
thats with 16 gb memory as well as a 1gig graphics card Windows 8.1 - just the box as I have a monitor etc

Its a suggestion not a recommendation. look see and read....

An IPS LCD monitor is a good choice...mine is a 23" version and it's great, I can view it from any angle without any loss of clarity...I could never us a lap top or any other small thing to edit my pics as they are far too dependent on the angle of view...I take my lap top when I go out to show people my pics but everyone seems to be bobbing up and down to get the right view..even myself, continually tilting the screen as I move to keep a good view.

I am surprised that more people are not with apple. Way out in front of any of the others. My opinion.

If you're wanting to run Photoshop and other ancillary software ask your sales rep if it will work well with serious computer games. The things a true gamer will want (Fast High-Definition Graphics card with plenty of RAM, Lots of System RAM, hefty CPU and sharp clear hi-def display) are the same things that you will want for your editing. Depending on where/who you get your computer from, they may not understand photo editing, but I'll bet they or someone close by knows gaming, and the specs for the two are going to be similar.

If apple had not shot itself in a foot folks would look at it.

As is the apple offers nothing that is significantly different from a PC. Adding to that a price that is ridiculous for the hardware offered it is understandable that PC users do not jump ship even when Microsoft creates a big mess as with their recent windows 8.

All other arguments, virus, stability and so on do not hold any water as a well maintained PC last just as long and the proportion of virus attacks are the same so....

More money, less features, same programs (many software maker saw where the wind was blowing to and the rest is history). Why get a mac?

My son has some kind of solid state drive that results in his pc booting up immediately. It might be worth putting in at the time of your purchase. When he gets home I'll get more specifics

Why get a Mac? Because they are simply the best. And a Mac Book Pro with Retina display is not dependent on the angle of view. I get so tired of you and your self-righteous BS that I have a difficult time digesting my dinner.

Apple makes great computers but be prepared to spend a LOT more for peripherals and printers and have a MUCH smaller selection of software.

I've been hearing that phrase for 24 years but I just don't SEE it, especially with the new monitors.
And haven't you ever gotten tired of reading "Not available for the Macintosh"?
