The DFW area has a pretty large Blues contingent. There are 'Open Jams' most nights of the week - sometimes more than one. This one was at a place called 'Stroker's Ice House' a biker bar with a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere and unique decor. I play amplified 'Chicago Style' blues harp using a vintage amp and mike. I took photos last night of all the folks who showed up to play. A very talented, diverse group.

Great shots. James56 will be happy to see these. He loves music and musicians. I think we all do at some level. Keep those great shots coming. :D

Yep, quite a range of talent I'd say. Nice set...you got some good shots. Now do you all Jam together, individually or have friends that play along. I've been to a few Open Jam sessions where folks share amps and instruments. So how'd you do...

The 'House Band' usually provides a loaner guitar & amp. Bass players use the house amp and either use the house bass or bring their own. Most guitar players bring their own axe and a lot of them have a favorite amp they bring. One guy last night brought in a 'Z' that had a nasty feedback problem.... Harp players are unique. The Amp and mike is actually like part of the instrument total along with the harmonica. If you want to play like Little Walter, you gotta have the right rig. I have an old tweed Fender Bassman w/ 4 - Alnico10's & an old Turner PA Mic. from the 50's....
