The historical society of my very small town wants to raise money by selling historical photo calendars of the town, and also selling photo coffee table books.

I really need your recommendations for sources to get 1) calendars and 2) photo books printed for a very reasonable cost!

I have used My Publisher, because I wanted a quality product....but their costs are too high.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

What kind of quantities are we talking about?
10? 100? 1000?
What quality? Hard cover? Press printed?
So many questions and so little information.

I've gotten nice results with books from Adorama.

Bret, do you have a link for Adorama for printed albums...?
I just looked and could only find photo albums to hold your normal pics, not printed albums?
Ron.

I'm not Bret, but.....

That's because it's a different division.

Yup thats the one...thank you Wall-E.
You know I wish they'd give the Adorama print shop a little more space on the home page.

I am sorry that I did not give a lot of detail. They plan on an initial quantity of 100 calendars! Ideally they would like to have high-quality calendars at a very reasonable price.

I really need sources for these calendars and books and my current plan is to try to try two or three and compare the quality for the cost involved.

I thank all of you for your recommendations,

Check out Mixbook. Very professional and the prices are good. You choose any layout you want and they ship in 2-3 days. Beautiful Work they do and easy to order.

I use Lulu.com for my calendars. They are really good. They also do books but have not used that function. Calendars are downladed and then printed. Fast turnaround time.

There's a vast difference between "coffee table books" and "photo books." Photo books, like the ones discussed here from Costco and Adorama, can be made in small quantities with decent quality at low cost. Coffee table books are something else entirely. In small quantities, the cost per book is outrageous. In large quantities, the cost per book is lots higher than for a photo book.

There's nothing wrong with photo books, I've seen some that were very nice, surprisingly so.

A lot depends on how much work you have done on the image before you send it--when I studied with Ansel Adams he spent days working on the image--and maybe 15-20 minutes taking it.
