According to this; Most Ugly Hedgehog's here are STUPID. Apparently I was before I retired. What say you?
Welfare Recipient calls talk show: "Work is stupid"
This is apparently the mindset of those largely responsible for the election's of this current administration.
An Austin welfare recipient tells Austin's Morning News she gets a lot of welfare money and can stay home and smoke weed. Listen to her phone call earlier today on the show with Mark, Ed and Sam...
Lucy is 32 with three kids. She is on welfare just like her parents and admits her kids will do the same. She says taxpayers are the fools...she gets to lay up all day and smoke weed while you go to work.

As much as I hate to say it, she does have a point. It has never been so easy in the past to sit on you're arse doing nothing. It is unsustainable and so it will never be so easy again. It's a narrow window of opportunity, and the rest of us have missed it.

Well, you have those kind in society. At the other end of the spectrum you have those whose sole goal is to amass as much money as possible, doing so by hook or crook, disregarding the needs of others. That's what happens in a materialistic society. When material wealth is the only measure of success, then those at each end of the wealth spectrum think they have achieved it grandly. Both ends take from those who need it, just in different ways.

So, you don't think that those who have "amassed as much money as possible" as you state, have earned their money? She has not EARNED anything. It's not her money. It is the taxpayers money!
I seriously doubt that she votes
Anybody can find individuals abusing any privileged and or program. You try being over 50 and unemployed in this United States and tell me if you think UIN, Foodstamps and assistance are stupid.

Well, 50% have below average intelligence. No getting around that. 'Course, the opposite is true as well... :)
Well there is a prime example of why welfare recipients should be drug tested.

Florida's blanket testing procedures for the last year found less than 3% with prohibited substances in their system. Now, I know that most tests can be easily beaten, but still I think that says something about the concern over drug-addled welfare recipients.

Lol....so if it can be easily beaten...how does it say ANYTHING?
Whatever number you get, won't mean anything.
In times of need, we have been on public assistance. Food stamps, WIC, Medi-cal.
Back then, it was embarrassing to pull out the stamps or coupons in the grocery store.
The sighs from the people in line behind you seemed so loud. Of course, the ones who sighed the loudest would often pull out their own coupons when their turn comes.
It's easier now, everything is loaded into that credit card. But it does kind of stand out.
The second our situation improved, we were off of the system--and proud to be able to stand on our own.
I just don't get people these days.
