Took this picture last summer about noon in Winnipeg Manitoba. I was carrying my bridge camera, the SX50 with the reputation of obtaining super telescope shots.
Winnipeg is the Capital of the Province of Manitoba....just north of North Dakota in the USA.
Their Legislative building is a handsome creation done almost 100 years ago. It stands about 245 feet high. On the top of the dome is a statue of "the Golden Boy" that itself measures another 17 feet. The statue is make of Bronze, making it look like the figure of a golden boy.
From approximately 4-5 city blocks away, this was my shot clear of other building and trees. I had only had the camera for about 3 weeks. Over the last several months have had the opportunity learn the camera and to take some great distant shots.
Although I carry the big canon and an arsenal of lens for many occasions, I certainly have my fun with this camera.

Nice to hear how much you are enjoying your camera, plus some interesting information about your photo. Thank you for sharing both. I too have fun with my sx50.
Nice example!! You did a fantastic job on that, but would be nice to see the 'full' figure view instead of having parts cropped off. However it really does show the great 'reach' of that camera!!
Thanks for the comments Elliern and Wahawk. Not too sure how much I had to crop that picture. Didn't save the original. I must redo that shot .... perhaps now in the winter (-27 today) just to see if the Golden Boy is wearing ear muffs. smile
AS promised, I retook the shot in three parts.
1- full view of the Manitoba Legislature from the North on a cold and ice crystal day, focal L of 4.3mm (shutter 1/1600 ISO 200, F4.5)
2-Zoomed into to focal L of 26.2mm (shutter 1/1000, ISO 200, F5.0)
3- close up of Golden Boy at 215.0mm (shutter 1/800, ISO 200, F6.5)
I enjoyed all your pictures, George!
