Ok I had a chance to play with this lens, nothing great, but some of you asked me to post some pics. It takes some getting used to, but I think it will be ok. You can see the doughnut rings in some of them.

I've had my Tamron adaptall 500 for many years, (1985!!!) and recently picked up a Tokina in a PK mount. Generally been happy enough with the results, "considering". Must play with the new one this weekend perhaps. The poor old Tamron got a growth on the mirror in the tropics, 2 years in Samoa, which downgrades the image even more. I find the focusing slow, a long travel on the barrell. I can dig out some photos from a couple of years ago and put them here? or is that hijacking a thread? i do find the DOF very shallow and always wondered, is that due to being 500mm or due to the mirror type of lens. I'd really like to know this point.
Andrew.
