Your thoughts on Intensify or intensify Pro SW for Mac

This looks pretty interesting and the non pro version is on sale in the App Store.

Has anyone used either of these SW programs...likes, dislikes? I am also trying to decide between Lightroom or PSE. Intensify is supposed to work as a plug- in with either or a stand alone.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

I have a copy and find it fun and playful.

It will depend on what your intent might be. I believe they have a trial version, I would suggest giving it a try.

I am not a fan of Lightroom and have a lot of other software that I use so no need for PSE.

I am an exclusive user of Aperture(MAC user) with several plug-ins, i.e. Nik/Topaz, etc.
I use both both SnapHeal Pro and Intensify Pro and find them 'fun' programs. The company has great (and fast) support with questions.

Thank you both for the input. I just got my imac a few months ago so I am still learning it's abilities and quirks. Prior to this I used PSE9 on my Win XP PC.

My original intention was to purchase Apeture. Reviews said it has not been updated in awhile and now lags behind PSE & Lightroom in features. PSE has layer capability and from what I understand Lightroom does not. All three programs are about the same cost. I guess at the moment I am leaning toward PSE. At any rate, I think I will get Intensify program for now.

I wish Apple would update Apeture. I think Apple programs run with less hassle on the Mac than other non-Apple software.

Again thanks for the input!

Early last year I too switched to an Imac from a pc
so I understand your situation.

Double check on PSE as it has been my understanding that it does not support 16bit files, (which is something that is important to me)

Although there is no indication when there will be Aperture 4, - Aperture 3 has been updated (now 3.5.1) many, many times as needed, and unless Apple decides to rewrite the program, it fulfills my needs. Not belaboring the point, but we each see programs that satisfy our workflow and use them to the best of our ability.

Moti makes a good point, we each need to find what fits our needs, that is what makes trials versions so important.

As a photo educator I have a lot of software and test a lot so I can make recommendations to my students, but the bottom line is what works for the individual.

For example I tried Acorn for the mac but just never got a handle on how to to use it easily.

On the other hand as a mac user you might also look at Pixemator it does some amazing things and isn't expensive, just check out the mac store. There is also a video that goes over all the functions for $5 that is very helpful

wow! Sure is complicated. Coming from an engineering background, I was thinking there might be a nice chart somewhere that compares features. I sure couldn't fine one. I totally agree in the end, it is what works for the individual...problem is, how does one find what works best without access to all the SW in question? The perfect solution appears to be have all three and then some...but that's $$$.

I guess I'll make a list of must haves, nice to haves and didn't know I should haves, prioritize and see what fits best.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.
