I've enjoyed this forum for a month now and realized I hadn't introduced myself. I'm Anne from San Antonio. I was an Air Force brat so I've lived in a number of places. I have always enjoyed looking at photographs and decided in the '80s to get an SLR camera and a few lenses. Then I took a class or two in photography. Life happened and I put away the camera. Now, with digital here, I have decided to come back and try to relearn some things about photography. I am at the "baby step - going from crawling to my first steps" so to speak.
I was an elementary school teacher for 30 years before retiring several years ago. I always had a point and shoot at school to take pictures of the kids. They loved seeing themselves in the shots and I would make copies for them as "end of the year" gifts to remember their 2nd (or 4th or 5th) grade year with me.
