Just learning to shoot in raw, this one after editing is saved as jpg but would like to know most of the steps you would take to edit a raw photo, obviously correct wb if need be but I'm still trying to understand correcting sharpness and brightness without being excessive, sometimes it looks good on screen but when you go to print its not the same. Thanks for any help! I shoot with a Nikon D5200, I thought would be a good starter camera.

Thank you, I'm pretty critical of myself when I'm constantly looking at professional photography all over, I can wait to do something half way amazing to that.

Welcome NKN. That's a stunning image!

Am just starting to dabble in raw myself so don't have any advice to offer. Some may ask what software you're using to edit, however, so can you tell us that?

I bought Corel Photoshop Pro Ultimate X6 and stock Nikon editing software.

A beautiful photo. I am not familiar with the Corel product. I use PhotoShop Elements 11 but I would think some general procedures are used in all software--noise reduction, adjusting lighting, color, croping, etc. Nearly everyone will tell you to do unmasking and sharpening last.

I know nothing of unmasking, just started to sharpen, I am a rookie, it is an in depth program though, its overwhelming with all of the tools that are displayed.

Just a variation of your picture using camera raw adjustments and a little photoshop

I had the Corel Paintshop Pro x4. Definitely overwhelmed by it. Bought Photoshop Elements 12 a few weeks ago. Seems more intuitive, cleaner, easy to find stuff but workspace isn't cluttered because everything is nicely tucked away behind tabs and collapsible menus :)

Wow that turned out amazing, I have a lot to learn in the post processing area, and Linda you probably are correct in my software being cluttered.

Nice picture. I too have a great view of the mountain and have been photographing it constantly for many years. You might want to obtain a copy of my DVD "Mountain Majesty" and see many unique views set to music. I sell it to raise funds for a wounded vet's program. You can contact me at gailclowers@msn.com for details.

A terrific super telephoto! Some day down the road the residents of Tacoma Washington will see and experience an awesome sight when this beautiful mountain decides to burp!

Great photo - I have a friend who is a guide for summiting Mt. Rainier.
I did some minor adjustments to levels and fill light in Corel
