Color is great, but sometimes a photo just works better in black and white. It can set a mood, add drama, or just remove the distraction of color so you can get to the heart of a story.

Thom: If you know my work than you know I'm nuts over #4 and #7 The lines, angles, and capture of lights and darks are wonderful. #1 is a masterpiece. I couldn't agree more about B&W. Thanks for posting.

I love these they are all very nice. I love black and white. I learned to develope black and white film when I first got serious into photography. I was a photographer who went into the digital age kicking and screaming. I had a hard time putting down my film camera. I do love digital now, I love being able to have both color and black and white without having to use 2 different cameras. I use to do this often, I would carry 2 film cameras one with color film and one with black and white film and you could frquently catch me taking very similar photos with each camera just so i could have both.

Good use and application of black and white, focuses on the people.

Thank you, Sirius. Candid shots of kids are so much fun.

I use to ride on my dad's boats on the Connecticut in the summers, he taught me how to use the channel markers to stay in the channel,- good memories.

Couldn't agree more with your thoughts on B&W. There is so much more story in black and white and so much more color. Well done series!
