My first attempt at a portrait. C & C welcome. Too bad the wind blew her hair just a bit too much.

Beautiful girl. She is very photogenic. Maybe put a bit of thought into the background next time... it's a bit distracting from your model :)

Thanks photogrl57. Actually, I was trying to use a background that I thought wouldn't detract from the shot, but it obviously did. It was taken at a lake. The hills from the other side of the lake are the distraction. Thanks for your input!

It's not the hills so much as the washed out sky. We have a lot of that here in the desert southwest. Perhaps just a different time of day would make all the difference.

Yes photogrl57, the sky was gray that day. How about photo2, photo3 or photo4. Do the trees distract you? Or, no background at all? Thanks again for your input!

I like #2 the best. The tree frames that beautiful face. Good work.

Thanks ExTech2. I thought the tree framed her face too, but was concerned that it might take focus away from the subject. Thanks again.

Thanks Wahawk. I have used PS11 a few times but I don't think I could drop the background in between her strands of hair that are wind blown. Pls feel free to have at it, if you like.

Just a couple quick edits with PaintShopPro. Working with the full size files would be easier.
