Hello All;
I have been reading the newsletters for many months now and have enjoyed many of the articles. I am a amateur photographer who is retired now and I shoot mostly HDR images. I am still learning and developing my skills regarding composition and the software requirements to pull an image together. It has been a big jump moving from taking snap shots to taking images with much more Wow factor. I use a Canon SX40 HS bridge camera running the Canon Hack Development kit which give be the ability to shot in Raw.
From a processing point of view I use Lightroom, Photomatix and Photoshop.
My move into this type of photography was initiated by the work of Trey Rattcliff who I consider a master of HDR Photography.

Welcome to the group!!
HDR done very nicely!! You would surely enjoy the SX50 with its HDR setting, auto bracketing and built in RAW capability along with provision for a standard Canon remote release!

Look forward to seeing more of your work!

Thank you for the welcome, actually I considered the SX 50HS however after a bit of research I stayed with the SX-40HS.
The SX50HS does have great telephoto range however at the cost of the lens being slower and having a minimum F-Stop of 3.5 , versus the SX40HS that has a F-Stop of 2.8. I have also a powered switch that I carry with the supplied USB cable which works as a remote switch. While I say this I never use the remote set up, as it is easier and quicker to just enable the 2-second timer when using a tripod. With the CHDK I get both higher and lower ISO ranges, additional AEB functions as well as lower and higher shutter speed and arpreture control.

Thank you for the welcome to the site it is nice to know that there are very knowledgeable people here such as yourself.

Welcome to UHH. I spent the month of November in Thailand-Bangkok, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Chiang Rai, Lampang. Great place to retire. Great photo opportunities. Used my SX40 while there. Wish my photos had turned out as good as yours.
