These photos were taken of Grand Canal Christmas Parade in Satellite Beach, Florida last Saturday night. I used a Nikon D300S and 18-200mm lens to capture these images. A Nikon SB800 flash was used to help illuminate these boats. Camera settings; ISO 800, Speed 1/40 sec, f-stop 5.6 to 8. I would appreciate your comments and critiques. Thanks Arnold

Arnold, nice pics. I will have try using a flash next year at our local Christmas boat parade. I didn't want to hijack your thread so I thought I would askif you would mind if I post a couple of my boat parade pics from this year? Thanks for the idea of using the flash.

love it!, very nice shooting job. Boat parades are always fun, but being from Naw'lens, did they throw anything?

I've been a Cajun Christmas boat parade before and we threw fishing lures, stuff animals etc, to all the kids, who tried to catch the stuff with thier fish nets. It was great fun. So throw me something mister is always the motto for Mardi Gras, and it applies to boat parades as well even in the bayou.

Rachel, No, I didn't see anybody throwing items from their boats to the people on the docks. I guess we have no boaters who came Naw'lens. :D Arnold

Tom, Those are very nice photos. It looks like the boats in your parade had many had many more lights than ours. Arnold
