I've been "lurking" on UHH for a number of months but never introduced myself.
I am 64 yrs old and live with my wife in New Mexico (born and raised in Bergen County New Jersey).
I was heavily into the photography hobby back in the late 70s. Even made a little money at it. When I got married I pretty much gave up the hobby, then we moved and I lost my darkroom etc etc.
I got into digital photography a couple of years ago and love it.
It is challenging, rewarding and has the potential to be a huge drain on my retirement fund :(

I will try to get a few photos posted in the next day or two. I have never ever had my images critiqued by fellow photographers so.....would value the feedback.

I've just posted a few to the gallery. I'm not sure if there is a limit one should adhere to to be polite and well behaved.

Welcome to the Hog, Psergel! Like your photos. We have several Hogs from NM. Might try a "meet-up" as we get into warmer weather.

My father grew up in Dumont and my grandmother lived there when I was a kid. I can't remember the name of the street I think it was Dumont Ave. I remember Dumont as a reallly nice Bergen county small town (I'm talking back in the 60s).

Not so nice anymore? That is a real shame.

I grew up in Carlstadt and my wife came from River Edge.
I haven't been back to Jersey in many years.

Hi Psergel, welcome to the hog. One thing bothers me, when you say,"it is challenging, rewarding and has the potential to be a huge drain on my retirement fundÂ…" What exactly do you mean by that? I am on social security and my camera has never been any kind of a drain on my retirement fund. Could you elucidate?
And while you are at it, how about posting some of your work so we can see.
Rich

I assume you're kidding but......I'm happy for you.

I've posted several photos yesterday and today.
