Hi there everyone. Hope to learn various ways to a camera. I am trying to decide if I should continue with buying a Nikon, either Nikon 11 j3, Canon, or something else. I am new at this, so anyone who can help me I would definitely appreciate it.

All questions to be answered before we can give really good answers.
You 'might' want to consider a good "SuperZoom Bridge" camera if you are just using a P&S now. They will cost $350-550 or so. If you go to a dSLR or mirrorless will multiple lenses, your cost will start around $400-500 that might include a basic zoom lens and then the costs start to mount as you add the various lenses.

hi there..in answer to u ?, I so enjoy taking unusual type pictures. These include rock or tree formations done by nature. I have taken some pics. that have almost done me in, i.e., hanging off of a cliff to get a tree growing out of a rock that is shaped like an elephant trunk..That was a doozy..I hope to find these pics and put these up as well.
Trying to possibly get a Nikon 1 j3 with plus lenses..Not sure if this is the way to go or not.
