My Epson 2400r printer is about at its end. I would appreciate any input as to what printers you would reccommend for professional grade prints. I have been researching the Epson 3880 and the Canon pro 10 but I am not committed to either one.

Have had a3880 for almost two years, bought it refurbished from the Epson site for under a grand, beautiful printer. Have converted to refillable carts and Cone Inks, cuts ink costs to less than a third of the Epson ink costs. I always use pigmented inks as I sell a few prints, not sure what type inks the canon model uses. Good luck with your choice.
I like My Canon Pro-10. Does a great job. Uses lots of ink.
I too have the epson 3800 and have used it for several years to print very high quality prints up to 22 inches by 17 inches. Great printer and stingy on ink. I have not had good luck trying to go to aftermarket ink, so I stick with Epson inks and good quality papers. For best results use specific paper profiles and don't let the printer control the color.
I have both canon 9500 as well as a Canon Pro 1. Both give great results, but do not take roll paper. Max size is 13x19.
I've owned the Epson 3880 for a couple years now. It performs superbly, and has many papers available for it. I like that it can print a 16x20 photo. I can recommend this printer.

I have an Epson 3880 and an Epson 1400 and love them both --- no problems what-so-ever!
I have the Epson 3880 and could not be happier with its performance and the prints are truly beautiful. I printed a portrait on a consumer Epson printer which seems very nice until you compare it with the same one printed on the 3880 and there is just no comparison. I've been very satisfied with the 3880. Good luck to you.
