AURORA CAMRAY C-300: Is anyone here familiar with these lights ?? any comments good or bad is greatly appreciated I cant seem to find much info about them online I have an opportunity...

Is anyone here familiar with these lights ?? any comments good or bad is greatly appreciated I cant seem to find much info about them online I have an opportunity to buy some used ones complete with stands , umbrellas and softboxes.

That's one I have never heard of, but the Chinese knock-off manufacturers are always putting new names on old products so it could be just about anything. Where are you looking at them?
Adorama used to sell an Aurora brand light system, seems like it was called "Cameron" though, that may be what you are looking at?

I would worry about parts since the kits are so hard to find, but it looks as if Henrys may have a line on them if the need should arise. Henrys is a reliable supplier.

MT I agree the Henris staff here in Windsor Ontario has been phenominal for me, very helpful and willing to spend time with me. Based on the kijiji link i provided what are your thoughts ?? I know the lights are probably a chinese knock off ..... maybe the fact there is not much info online may be an indicator

Me personally, I would pass. But I don't know the lighting market in Canada. I tend to stick with known brands for their dependability. Maybe you could talk to your Henrys rep, seems you have one you trust.

Thanks MT Im going to go look at the stuff Talk to My guy at henris but I am really leaning at a pass unless he drops the price bigtime. Strange how pricing works - USA vs Canada on major items like bodies , lenses, flashes etc prices are comparable in some cases even cheaper here. However the smaller items , brackets , gizmos etc are a different story. a $30 amazon (USA) item is a 69 $ item on amazon.ca ( canada) even the chinese knock offs !!!

Im just an amatuer but want to set up a small studio this peaked my interest as a whole package . Ive recieved some good info in a previous thread on here pluse some info from Capn C that i think is sound - stick to my SB 700 & 910 and buy the add on stands, umbrellas and softboxes
