Hello - first post (besides the intro post). I am starting to expand my photography by learning about custom WB, exposure, light temp, etc. I have been sports photography of my son playing baseball - using A-S priority modes, but most everything else as presets. Now I am trying to take it up a bunch of levels into the complete "manual" world (like using my Dad's old '60's Pentax Spotmatic, which I still have).
The files attached show what is probably a complicated shot where I was trying to capture the moon and the Xmas icicle lights which are covered in icicles themselves. Two different color temps and focusing on the moon and then the lights...can't get both even with a small aperture. What I did realize is I would love to get a remote flash so I can, in this case, bring out the tree in the background. Comments welcome.....this was only playing so it is not meant as a photojournalist submission!
