I was out of the vehicle, but it was between me and the bear!
I did take a trip to Brooks Falls, this is where the ears come to feed on the salmon when they come in. the only way to get there is to fly in. and they don't allow guns. as I was walking trough the woods knowing bears are close by. I said to myself "what the heck was I thinking"
but hundreds of people go every year and no one has got hurt yet

As an Alaska resident for the past several years, I still have not gotten any really good wildlife pictures anything near as good as these. Great Job. Looks like you had some sunshine while there. I recently posted this picture of the mountain, in case you missed it.

I was on an Alaska Airlines flight and the pilot saw how resplendent the mountain was, so he dropped down and did an 270 degree fly around at peak level. I took a series of pictures out the window with a Sony DSC 100. Here are a couple more.
