There are always anti gun people in Chit Chat.if you are one of them,I really would like to know the reasons behind this.I would really like to understand your mind sight.
I hope to see maturity, minus all the name calling if possible.

I know this is not always the case, and maybe hardly never the case, but I know a few people that are almost illiterate concerning guns, but they are dead set opposed to them because that is the current "thing to do."

I hear ya,however I believe many folks grew up in families that hated of feared guns.My Paternal Grandfather was scared stiff of guns for some unknown reason.

I think is more a cultural thing.

Me, for example coming from a very violent country, I usually find weapons as means of intimidation, crime tools and possible even accidental deaths.

You have to understand though, in Guatemala usually only two kind of people carry guns: criminals and police, who usually are worst than criminals due to the rampant corruption there.

There is also another issue with guns and weapons. usually they are made here in united states, but due to people upgrading them, or simply getting bored, they end up being sold to private parties or thru internet who in exchange sell them to criminals or even worst, to people without the proper training to keep them safe, away from children, or mentally ill individuals. or, sometimes, ship back to third countries like mine, where criminals use them.

I have no problems with people having guns for protection, sport or collection, as long they know what they are doing. Heck, I know people here in Utah with private arsenals that put in shame a police department.

I work in a retail store that sells guns and ammo, and I see people in line every day waiting two hours for a single case of 22's which is dumb as well. senators like puppets.

Then there is the whole rifle association, that handles a bunch of congressmen and

I feel sometimes, people get too crazy about guns and they forget that their rights ends where my rights begins.

I hope my respectful point of view don't hurt nobodies feelings. Thanks

OK,I see your point, but just so you know, guns sold on the internet require background checks,so most criminals do not buy them there.

If there were NO guns there would be NO gun crime.
Absolutly correct.
Just like since there are no ray-guns, there is no ray-gun crime.
That is as far as those people are able to think.
All the stats about how much crime is prevented by guns has no meaning to the gun control nuts.

What I liked most was the message sent to the nation as a whole when immediately after both last presidential elections the gun stores were emptied of their content ! lol
The current and ongoing shortage of ammo is more troubling in my mind!

I had the opportunity to witness many assaults and murders where guns played no part.Criminals do not need guns to harm or kill me now mostly because of age and ailments. However, guns are my best chance to win if attacked.

That is true.
I meant internet sites like craigslist or local newspaper websites.

But you hit the nail right on the head. If you take a concealed weapon course, go to a store and Id yourself so the clerk sees you have no criminal record, congratulations, shoot at your heart content.

But without proper regulations, my kids can end up buying your guns, and kill themselves or a bulglar will kill me before I have the time to open the safe gun, remove the trigger safety device, open the other safe with the ammo, look for my camo jacket, and my orange vest, and the laser pointy little light. (Just kidding about the vest and the laser little light) :-)

no shortage of components, reloading saves a ton of cash and is an relaxing persuit. Primers, powder, bullets plus a press and dies, some patience and one can assemble any number of rounds in a weekday evening or week end.
Plus you can tailor your rounds to meet different needs.

Plinking? low power rounds to punch paper. Hand gun hunting for boar? bear? 44 mag with 290 grain SWC in front of a substantial load of blue dot will eliminate any worries.
Back in the day, we used to get 223 (5.56mm) brass in 5 gallon buckets for next to nothing.

I know very few people that buy factory ammo these days, except to try a new over the counter load. Hunting loads evolve over the years to suit specific needs.
Factory ammo is great for off the shelf needs.

Your kids or my grandkids can buy a lot of stuff that's bad if we don't keep a close eye on their activities and friends don't you think?
