It's a nice picture, but I think it is let down a little by the halo around the trees. This shouts "look at me, I'm HDR!"
Just my opinion, though.

In this novices opinion.....I think you are well on your way. Very well done,as far as not being overdone ( if that makes any sense). Yes,there are halos( the white outline )along the tree line. But for your first time? Very well done and you'll only get better as you experiment. Again I'm new to it myself and just my opinion. :thumbup:

Nicely done for a first time. Next time please tick the 'store original' box so we can see a bigger and clearer image to make more accurate comments.
