Would someone be kind enough to explain to me how to find the EXIF Data in the postings that appear on UHH? I have a Mac computer and I have never been able to find the information that others reference when talking about various photos. Many thanks.

You can only retrieve that data if the download is available. Then download and save the file to check the EXIF data.

MT Shooter stated it correctly. If there is a download file, click on it to view the photo. Copy the URL at the the top (Edit>Copy), then go to http://regex.info/exif.cgi and enter the URL in the Image URL: box. The EXIF data will then be displayed for that photo.

Since you have a mac, download and save the photos that say 'Download" to your desktop. Then open them with Preview (double click the photo). PREVIEW comes with all Macs and you don't have to look for it, when you double click any image that is the program that opens them. Then click on "SHOW inspector " on its MENU and you will see all the EXIF data if it has not been removed.

For photos that don't say download you can use add-ons to your browser - i use firefox because it has lots of add-ons-- that will show the EXif data ( if it has not been removed) with a right click on the photo.

I use Firefox and Chrome as browsers. You can download and install an add-on called EXIF Viewer and when you view the download picture in your browser just right click and pick Exif Viewer from the menu. It will give you the information as well as a Histogram if the info has been included.

Thanks, Larry. Those are the 2 browsers I use as well. I just finished downloading the add-on.

This is an add-on for browsers that lets you right click on an image and it will provide you the exif data, if it is present. Here on UHH, it is necessary to click on the download link, if it is present, to view the exif data. The name of the add-on is Exif Viewer and currently is at version 2.0, for the browser and OS I use.

Looks like someone already mentioned that add-on. Ignore this post. I'd delete it, but that option is not available.
