Just a few photos from this weekends drag racing. Sadly not on par with some other countries in the world when it comes to serious speed and power, but the thrills are always there!

They also had spinning and drifting on the day, will post some of them if anyone wants to see? Did you have Ford Cortina and Ford Capri's in the US in the 70's?

I have been to an event in the US, so the comparison is maybe unfair. Yes, we do have a fairly strong scene, but mostly in the Johannesburg area. More people, more money. Here in Cape Town it is popular but less money - the fact that the top car only ran a 9.88 speaks volumes! In the US, half that probably means you don't get anywhere near the semis for the top fuelers...
But it is fun, and spectators can get real close so the atmosphere really lights up.
