Early morning sun breaking through the fog in Cataloochee Valley - North Carolina.
Natural cloudy backdrop enhances the spotlighting.
A Christmas concert inside the above church; the singers are enhanced by the natural lighting filtered through the historic stained glass window.
Freshly washed red grapes sparkling in the kitchen window light.
Mountain berries illuminated by the afternoon sun.
Natural lighting as it must have been in the old days
Tack room of an estate that I have listed. The family can't bear to remove their Dad's saddle and various coats, etc. Natural light coming through the window.
So natural light is any light that is not flash? Here are mine.
sunlight on the thistle
sunlight throught the window screen
light and shadow
Shadows, I think each of these pics takes advantage of shadows to tell it's tale.
I've done my captions as if I were in the mind of the shown creatures.
& I checked overnight with an Aussie friend, yes, this is their hottest summer on record. So, while we're in deep freeze, they wish for some of our cool. They were doing the same last year when I was there.

How do I get shade?
Ooooh, humans coming, into the woods quick.
Ah, this isn't so warm.

Nice start mgstrawn. Is the log cabin in Cades Cove? I love old buildings like that.
How refreshing to come in from the cold winter. for this challenge I am visiting some olden day interiors from my photo archives.
a dining room with natural light
a fireplace from yesteryear
a woodbox, how I wish I still had woodburning stove for now
an array of blacksmith tools
barrels for storage
a team of horses
a buggy in the carriage house or barn

p1 Beautiful start, mg. So good to see you again. Thanks for hosting. My"fresh shots" have suffered due to busyness. But will find something. Planned to shoot today and we are having another big storm. If I took a picture of a piece of white paper, you'd all see what I see.

Good Morning, Jack! I can't imagine what it's like to see Kangaroos roaming freely in the wild! We are having an unusually cold winter in Georgia, USA. No snow or ice, yet. (pg. 1)

Wonderful to see you, Bushido! Yes, the old home is in Cade's Cove. We've been so many times, and there are still areas that we haven't explored.

Good Morning, Pat! Great to see you, too! I think things are finally slowing down a bit for me. Mixing in 2 unexpected church family funerals the week of Christmas was a nightmare! I have been concerned for you guys seeing how the northern states have been slammed with snow!

Glad you enjoyed. I hope to take some fresh pictures today, but as Pat says, it might be like taking a picture of a white sheet of paper. I am yearning for the interior of an old barn, or something like that. However, its the shopping mall for me today as I am experiencing cabin fever and I must treat it with some after Christmas shopping, which I think will be a favourable cure!
Thank you for your comment.
Archives for now. Good article, Gracie.
