Why are you selling it?
Will you sell them separately?

If you thinking about the warranty, that applies to the original purchaser only.

I don't know about that Jerry. If the guy has the receipt and the camera is less than a year old and gives the receipt to the person buying it then it should still be covered unless the original owner sent a warranty card in to Nikon.

I know that with Canon I've never sent in any of the warranty cards and my stuff was still covered. Heck, I brought in my 7D and it was 1 1/2 years only, no receipt, didn't send in the warranty card, and they covered the repair. But that's Canon. I have no idea how Nikon treats their customers.

That was/is my concern Jerry, be it for me or others interested. I will be hopefully looking into it once I'm done snow plowing later today.

The only way you can do this is to return the camera to the original purchaser & have him send it to Nikon for warranty & you cover the shipping.
Like Jerry says original owner ONLY. $2200.00 is a good buy for the body. Your choice.
That's the only way.
The next Nikon camera I purchase over $2000.00 I will purchase extra warranty.
Out of warranty repairs start at $250.00. Bill

The original consumer in any companies eyes is the original register. Until it is registered Nikon or whomever does not know who the original purchaser is unless the sales receipt has the purchaser's name on it. The warranty starts on the day of purchase (sales receipt). Even if the product is registered 6 months later the warranty starts the date of the receipt. if I was in possession of camera, the unregistered warranty card and a receipt, how could a company dispute that I was not the original owner.
Now that said, some companies put in a clause stating their product must be registered buy a certain date after purchase and that would create a different scenario. I could not see that clause on the Nikon site provided.

Edit: Even if a purchasers name is on the receipt that could be argued as people have been known to gift warranty eligible products (i.e Christmas presents) the receiver would the one to register and get the warranty.

But as the second buyer..... I WOULD KNOW that I was not the original owner. You are committing a fraud against the warrantor. Plain & simple !!!

If you were the company warrantying a product, how would you feel about a second owner doing that to you ??

You can bet the original buyer has their name on the purchase receipt??? Credit card receipt.
If not your home & free?????
Very gray area.
