This is not a new photo just thought you might get a kick out of it.
It was taken with a nikon D90 with the kit 200mm zoom lense. The f/5.6 exposure time 1/60 ISO 800 focal length 200mm. It was taken at night the onboard flash was use. It was under an over pass and hand helt. I knew where it was at but couldn't see it when took the picture and was quite surprised when I seent he picture. I had jusst purchase the nikon D90 and was trying it out.

Yea did catch just right it was dark and I knew the owl was there but it was quite a surprise when seen the pigeon on its head. I wonder how many of them owls have been purchased only to find they work the same as that one. Thanks for the response

Great shot. It made me laugh. I'm a past owner of a plastic owl. Mine worked for a day before the birds just ignored it. The only one who believes they scare away birds must be the plastic owl salesman. :-D

Yea that is for sure for some thing that don't work there is lot of them out there. If you look around you can see them on top of banks and all kind of places. When I took that pic you can imagine the surprise. I was going to take a picture of an owl and after I took it and seen that pigeon on it's head. I had a couple of barn owls nested in a maple tree in my yard had lot of opertunity to photograph them and for some reason I never seen one pigeon setting on thier head. Five hatched out in a hollow pocket in the maple tree and as they grew bigger one would raise up to look out at the new world and another one would raise up and help it into the new world. There was only one that servived and I have some pictures of it with what I presumed to be the mother. I will put pictures of them on some time first have to locate them. I have some programs on my computer that disagrees with me where they should be.
