Chris called me outside to identify a bird and I flew back into the house to get my camera. The hawk was eating a meal so he was hunkered in and protecting it. After I took my pictures (handheld and out of breath and unedited) I went back out to look at him and his mate flew in, he dropped his meal, she picked it up out of the air and took off towards another tree...camera was back in the house. Very cool to watch though. Last photo is not for the squeamish.

Thank you Doddy, this pair has been in the neighborhood for at least a year. They are not a very big hawk but beautiful none the less!
Good shots MagicFad! That's how I caught my first and only hawk...only had a point and shoot in my bad, so I whipped it out and got him after he flew over our parked car.
