Does this not serve the same purpose as a set of locks only with higher lift heights?
It does serve the same purpose but in a much shorter distance.
It also much quicker than a flight of locks.
The backyard mechanic in me is curious as to how much weight this will lift and how thick the material is that holds the water. I can spend hours just looking and crawling on things as this.
