I just took this image about three hours ago.
I edited this image in Lightroom by selecting the background with the masking brush tool, and then turning the clarity slider all the way down. Makes for a nice greeting card look. It sure makes the icky water look better. What do you think?
It looks damn good to me!
Thank you for the information. I like the shot. I must admit that I usually choose PS when I am selecting parts of a photo. I'll have to try this technique in LR. Photo is very good. I really like the effect.
Very nice job. A keeper and hang it on the wall.

I like what you accomplished. Could you have added a blue tinge to the water?
I love what you have done with this!! Good eye!!

I noticed the effect in the OnOne Suite, and was curious if the same effect could be achieved via LR.
I like it as well, nice one.

A very interesting note to that. I have no images of mine on the walls of our house. My wife doesn't care that much for them. She prefers illustrations and her Mom's quilts.

Probably could have, but the water had no blue. The reflected background is from the winter grasses that are now dead. That is why the photo appears to be almost monochromatic.

Very lovely, great idea.
It was worth the experiment. I don't often alter my images, as I enjoy viewing natural history images as I saw them, but I have been experimenting with some fun things lately. I guess an "old dog" can learn a new trick now and then.
