Not the greatest of shots, but if you've been chasing one of these fellows around like myself you might understand. Very crafty bird and extremely hard to approach. Heck I get within rock throwing distance of Eagles, but never as close to this young lady. You'll have to wait for a BIF as I'm working on that as well. Had to do the belly crawl to even get this capture. As you can see the female was in the bush......

You did good! I have one in back of our condo. He is never still long enough for me to get a good shot off. Been trying for bif, no luck their either. But one of these days.....

Excellent! I understand the frustration with the kingfisher. I love the bird but have a few special names for them I won't mention here. :)

I saw a few of those guys on powerlines when driving through Florida City on the way to Key Largo, it must be their season?
