I don't think world war II started with the japenese bombing Pearl Harbour. It had been going on for a couple of years before that.

Being picky ? WWII 3 1/2 years would be the period the USA was specifically involved mano o mano don't you think?

Being picky as you are I thought I might bring that forward. Our allies certainly were involved longer than us and more directly with much less industrial might and materials.

While this is actually stupid.. The real problem is that in time of war we were able to use our industrial base, our factories, our natural resources in pulling together to fight our enemies. TODAY, this strength dies not exist in sufficient numbers to make a difference, unless you think Wall Street will protect you or that China will send us guns and tanks. America is a changed nation and this can be seen in our failures at war in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan.... Think about it....

I think all the evidence you need can be obtained by watching or listening to any news channel. It's widely known that the Obama website still doesn't work after 3.5 years and $600+Million of development.
