Do you recall how much the radio was selling for, just curious

Sorry Ed, I don't know. If your really interested, I can go see. It's located in a shop about 12 miles away, I could probably talk my wife into a trip if you really need to know. I can't drive in Nashville, folks drive to crazy for me and...my wife is an ex-Nascar driver. Well not really, but she could be after 18 years of driving downtown in rush hour traffic.

Yeah, those days of am radio when many of them were what is called "clear channel", meaning of course the ONLY station in the country on a specific frequency, allowing the signal to bounce (skip) without interfering or mixing in with the signal of any other station. Used to listen to WLS (Chicago), XERB (Mexico), KFRC (San Fransisco), KHJ (Los Angeles) and many others from around the country… all while I was growing up in Sacramento. I loved radio with a passion, knew I wanted to be come a radio disc jockey since I was 7 years old… now I'm retired with 32 years in radio. And loved every minute of it.

Nice interesting story...we have a radio celebrity amongst us. I think that's Great. Lots of people used to scan the airwaves at night. I think it's called "DXing" Thanks for visiting with your cool story.

I'm to young to have heard the original live broadcasts, but I have listened to replays when I can find a station that plays it. It's full of drama....for only the shadow knows!
