Nice shot Bruce. Did you get over to The Flume Gorge while you were in the neighborhood? We were there in October, right after I bought my first real DSLR, Nikon D5100.

Very misleading title. I was very disappointed in the actual subject matter. Being From Chicago I got kind of excited thinking it was going to be about Kyle Orton and the Chicago Bears.
Then, I open it up and see this crap! Just kidding. Good stuff.

OK I've never tried this effect, so I googled it, and tried it out..even created a preset in PS. Here is my first shot.
What steps do you go through to create the effect?

Opinions are good. That's why we have forums like this. The "silky water" picture I posted was actually taken with a slow shutter speed. I added the effect as an experiment in using this.

RTR Flume, The Basin, Falling Waters trail are all favorites. I lived in NH for 22 years and found some great venues for photography. Dixville Notch area provides Kennedy Cascades, Baby Flume, Route 302 fropm Twin Mountain towards Conway has a number of falls as well as killer trails such as Frankenstein Cliffs. Also wehen in the area try Lost River Gorge on route 112 for some wonderful opportunities for shooting. If on 112 or 302 early morning you want to set your camera for fast ISO and wear as fast of a lens as you have to capture Moose ( from your car is best)Moose are wonderful subjects but if you crowd them they can react 3 ways, ignore you, leave, or leave over your lifeless twitching human remains.

The opinions of others is what we seek when we post images, and I thank you for yours. For my part trends come and go and the focus of my interests change over time. Orton, HDR, or anyother technique has their place.
Some images may benefit with a bit of finageling, some take less kindly to merssing with.
I like to play with this or that techniqoe. sometimes the results are favorable, others the kindliest thing that can be done is delete the junk.
