When I bought my new, 60mm macro, it was only natural that my first shots be of my macaw. Thought they would be also appropriate as my very first uploads to UHH.

Thank you, John. We lost the brown girl in July, but I can't bring myself to remove her from my avatar which I've been using for years.

I completely understand. We lost Maxie, the Maltese in my Avatar, six years ago. I still have her picture by my chair and tHink of her all the time. Like true family, they stay in your heart forever. My sympathy on your sad loss.

Selkii, I couldn't resist sending you this picture. Sorry for the flash in the picture but it is under glass. This is an acrylic painting (yes a painting) done by my very talented sister-in-law.

Thank you John. My heart hurts for your loss, too. Our white poodle is 16-1/2, the age we lost our fur-girl. He is blind, deaf and showing signs of senility, so, despite trying not to think about it, I am involuntarily bracing for the inevitable. At least I have hundreds upon hundreds of photos of them both and, of course, our Feathered Daughter.
