Some of the Albatross and Petrels in Kaikoura, New Zealand, thanks to Albatross Encounter.

#1 is a great perspective. #3 - a bit of a misunderstanding? :)

Definitely. I think the one on the right had established himself as "king of the wave". The one on the left missed the memo.

I love no. 1 Really very nice. Love the close interaction between the bird and the water.

Thank you for the positive comments.

I would also welcome, even seek, any criticism. I promise to not get defensive. :-)
Thank you.

I like the first photo with it's composition showing the bird flying just above the waves.

I love your shot of the 2 birds fighting. You don't see that kind of close up action very often. Well done. Looks like you might have been using a fairly big lens to capture those images as tight as you nailed them. What's in the gear bag? Just curious...

Yes, it's the Nikon 300mm f/2.8 VR I. Big but not unweildy, and crazy sharp. Any pictures which are not sharp are entirely my fault. :-) Other toys include the 85mm f/1.4G, the 200mm f/4 Micro, and 24mm f/1.4G. I'll post pictures using those soon.

I agree. I can only take a little credit, the albatross did most of the work. :-)

Lovely pics, but the last one is completely spoiled by the huge overprint...

I agree. Excellent photos but the watermarks are very distracting.

Yes, the watermarks are way to large.
