Why is my D600 taking 2 images when set to time delay

It's never done this before and was looking through the menus and can't find anything amiss. When set to single shot it only shoots 1. On time delay it fires 2 in rapid succession.
Did I somehow turn on bracketing or HDR????

It doesn't seem to in menu. Thanks Don

Oooops I found it. Somehow the self timer delay had been set to 2 shots. How the heck did that happen?

Hmmmmmmm! You learn something new every day.

Haven't really even started yet(today). It's about 10*F here. Just got back from running a few errands and found my 498RC4 had returned from service. Just in time for tonight & tomorrow(as they promised).
Thanks for the reply and for the life of me don't remember changing that setting. Must be the dreaded Photography Gremlins!

Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I hope all is going well with "the Cottage." Don

I can't understand how anyone can make a mistake like this with such a simple camera. It has only about 40 buttons, switches, and settings, not counting several dozen choices in the Menu system. Just sit in a quiet room for thirty minutes or so before taking a picture and make sure all the settings are correct. Simple! :D

Thanks for the words of encouragement Jerry. It actually "did" take about that long to find it. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Leave it, is an excellent hedge against blinkers! Set it too three on fact, the film is cheap!

Exactly what I have my D600 timer set for. If I am using the timer, it will be a group shot, so after 10 seconds to run into the pic, three shots 1/2 second apart should give a usable result.

Yes, it is great to have all the settings this camera gives (more than I could have ever imagined!), but it is disconcerting to have set something, knowingly or not, that throws you into a quandary, or a quagmire!

It also fun for people to do something different for each-shot They get funny! Ends up to be the one people want.

You are correct though, stuff tends to 'show up' after a mystery settings change. I found that my d800 was set to a smaller shot size somehow, didn't realize it till I got home and noticed I was missing the "sides" of images I knew should be there using my 25mm. I do not recall changing it, must have done it by accident! Will indeed drive you nuts!
