A Great Blue Heron banks quickly to the left upon it's approach after a Cormorant surfaced unexpectedly.

Gotcha ya. haha. Great picture. I probably would have started laughing cause I would have jumped about a foot if that happened to me.

great catch! i think that looks more like a Little Blue heron, or perhaps a tricolor... GBHs have a prominent white stripe on the top of their heads. that, and a GBH is MUCH larger than a cormorant - this little fella looks barely bigger, if at all...

Ah thanks. You are correct, it is a LBH. I was editing a batch of GBH pics at the time and had GBH on my brain when I posted this.
I should know better anyway, I have a thousand photos of GBH's. And when I say a thousand, I mean three thousand.
