I want to protect the LCD screen on my new Lumix FZ200. Picked up one today for a 3" screen that does not fit, will be returning it. I would like a custom fit, no trimming.

What do others here use that offers the best protection while maintaining optical clarity? ScreenPatronus is a brand that is USA made but I know nothing of their quality. Is the 'hard' type superior?

I also want to be able to face the articulated screen toward the camera so it can not be too thick, some I have seen will not allow the clearance to do so.

I want to protect the LCD screen on my new Lumix F... (show quote)

I have a Hoodman on my Lumix G3. It's very thin and I can close the screen; very easy to apply, even for a klutz like me. If you have to do any trimming, I do NOT recommend scissors; buy, beg or borrow a Rotatrim! Or try:

Look at ALL the options on that page.......

A Zagg Invisible Shield was recommended to me the other day. They appear to be model specific and I have just finished installing it on my camera. Easy to apply and you'd hardly know it was there.

The LCD is such a key feature on DSLRs. For me, plastic film will be restricted to the cell phone.

Consider the Giotto screen protector. Multi-coated German Schott glass! It fits beautifully and easily.

Giottos cost about $30 but provides rigid protection. Importantly, you get to view your images thru tempered optical glass.

I use Zagg on everything I can, including my MacBook Pro. They now describe it as "Military Grade." It's durable, easy to put on, and guaranteed.

I use glass shields (from a company called GGS) on my cameras.

At the recommendation of racmanaz, I purchased a GGS from Adorama. It is well made, but will not allow an articulating to close completely. I don't have that problem on my X10, but the Hoodman I stuck on temporarily is working so well, I have put the GGS away until I wear out the Hoodman.
