I shot this Bald Eagle chewing on a salmon as the sun was going down.

I think it is a nice photo. I like the golden light on his wing.

Nice shot. Nice treatment. The Sig is a good lens, isn't it?

Very nice shot. I wish I were in an area where I could see those majestic birds. They are few and far between around my parts.

Thank you. Yes, the Sigma lenses, 50-500mm and 150-500mm are great lenses. I have had the 150-500mm lens for 3 years now and I have had no problems with it and it still looks brand new. The 50-500mm is almost one years old and again no problem with it concerning the motorized drive for focusing, the OS (optical stabilizer) system and the front lens and exterior lens body are all holding up perfectly. I highly recommend these lenses.

Thank you. We have Bald Eagles that stay here year-round but most of them are migrating from Canada to feed on our spawning salmon in 25 mile long Lake Coeur d' Alene, especially the NE corner of the lake close to the City of Coeur d' Alene, North Idaho (pop. 46,000) which is where I live. So, the Eagles will be flying south for warmer weather after the salmon disappear about mid-January. I try to capture as many shots as I can while the Eagles are here.
About 200 of the Eagles are spotted every day in this area.
Below photo shows 7 Eagles in one tree last week.

Thank you very much. The setting sun helped show the details on a clear sunny day.

WOW Regis! I know it is just our part of the world, but I have never seen that many eagles in one spot! Great capture. And thanks for the info on the Sig 150-500. Been thinking about one.
