Somehow have created a new flickr account which has no photos. Can get to the old one via a saved desktop icon with 200+ photos but cannot edit. Logging in to account only allows me to see the empty account. Flicker customer help appears to be non-existent.
If I delete the new account could I then get to the old one? Frustrated

Any help would be great

I had an account but had not used it. So when got ready to upload pics, it would not recognize me. I know what my log in and password were, but just in case requested that info. They then said I did not exist. Same thing with my Picasa account. At least I can still use some of Picas. Have used it heavily for years. Have no idea ehy it no longer recognizes me. But they only text passwords now, not email and I don't have text. So had to get all new Flickr and not sure what to do about Picasa. Hate to lose all my photos in there if I get a new Picasa account. Not quite in the same boat as you, but similar and frustrating issues.

Had the same thing
1) had to log out of flicker
2)had to log out of Yahoo
3)cleaned out cookies
4)logged back into flicker with original user name and password. Got me back in

If that doesn't get you back in contact customer care via Email
hope it works for you.

I has a very similar problem a while back. I don't remember the details exactly but the problem was that in the process of logging in, at some point I created a new account. I didn't realize that Flickr kind of assumes you want to create your account using a Yahoo ID but my original account was created using my Google ID. Like I said....I don't remember HOW I created the problem but I was logging into the wrong account. My photos were in the account using the Google ID and I kept logging into the new account using my Yahoo ID.
At the Flickr login you can choose between Yahoo in big letter in the center of the window or Google (and something else) in small print at the bottom of the window. Make sure you are going to the right option.

There is no longer an option to sigh up via google, that always worked before.

Flicker has a help screen which mentions everything but this problem
They do not have any chat or email or other help options, just sink or swim or deal with a fully automated system.

Wish I could transfer my 200+ photos to another service

Have you tried using a different browser?
Or even a different computer?

That's because Flickr is a Yahoo property.
And is trying to compete with Google+.

Yes, it can find the site to view only easily. It just doesn't recognize me, so I can't edit. flickr stinks but there does not seem to be any comparable alternate.

Google+ appears to have a backup but not a sharing feature like Flickr.

Which is why I asked if you'd tried a different browser and/or computer to try and log in. Especially if you're currently using Internet Exploder.

I did the same...I had an account, and then created a new one.

The issue MIGHT be that you keep signing in with the screen name tied to the wrong account (that's what happened to me)

My question is how to sign into the original flickr account. It won't let me do it. If I delete the new account will it then revert to the old one or will it delete both?

I have the same problem of unknowingly creating a new flickr account. My old photostream page has over 1000 pictures on it which I put up over a period of about 3 years. Now when I want to add a new image the new account keeps coming up and I don't think those who follow my stream are seeing that new account so I don't use it. I contacted flickr via email and they were of no help so I gave up and haven't posted any new images for about 5 months.

I deleted the new account and it went back to the old one. I have no idea how it did that, but it did. Now it works like it should.
