First, Merry Christmas to all and may you be blessed with family & memories.

I seem to need to go get my camera or it is home when I want to take photo.
Where does everyone keep their cameras?
Do you always carry camera "just in case of opportunity"?
Do you plan shooting trip and then take camera?
Do you just have extra camera(s) for outdoors & studio?
Or, what else am I missing?

Thanks,
Regis

I keep my point and shoot in my handbag alongside my wallet. That's the advantage of having something simple and cheap.

I have my camera and most commonly used lens in a lowe pro backpack/ carry bags and normally pick it up and take it to the car or truck before I leave just in case I may want to use it and bring it back inside when i return.
I look out the front door before going to get the newspaper or check the mail to see if the hawks are out or if George (the GBH) is at the pond to see if I need to take my camera with me.

I usually keep an iPhone handy.
Takes pretty good pictures in a pinch.
Here's one from last week.

I have my camera ride shotgun when I travel, that way I can get a good photo, if one rears it's head. I like to be ready just in case. I also have my phone camera if needed.

I don't keep a camera in the car unless I know I'm going out to take some pictures. On vacation, I take both point & shoot and DSLR.

I'm the odd one here: I take my camera when I'm planning to take pictures, otherwise I just don't bother.

I keep my Sherpa loaded with my gear and he follows me. I have found that the Sherpa is cheaper than my ex, which means I can afford more gear and may need a second Sherpa.

I too used to use a Sherpa, but one day she slipped on the glacier and slid down the ice and landed in a nearby pawnshop.
Now I carry my own camera, less mouths to feed.
I only carry it when I have planned shots. ;-)

Well here goes:
I keep mine in the van 90% of the time, covered with my cold weather clothing unless its gonna get below zero.

I've got one that travels with me 98% of the time. I've four others that are within easy reach when I am working at my computer/desk. Two others which I can quickly get in an adjacent room. Another one in my bedroom. Several others are in other areas.

You're depriving yourself, you need at least 6 more.

I'm working on that. I just purchased another one last night. I didn't add it to the family as it just arrived and I'm figuring out where it's going to stay.
