Anyone else notice how much more congenial things have been here since JR1 was suspended from the site?
I certainly have.

I miss him, at times his comments were acerbic, but he was knowledgeable, and many times correct in his assessment. I think we have become too PC and or thin skinned.

I agree with supporting common courtesy. Behaving the way he and some others do should be unacceptable. It is not necessary. I am very happy Admin took action. I doubt anyone would behave that way face-to-face and that behavior ruins the discussion.

If they have good things to add they can do with common courtesy and respect for everyone else.

I've got another one sending me completely inappropriate PMs now and making similar thread comments. Hopefully Admin will deal with that one as well.

There are other people here that are just as knowledgeable without being a narcissist.

Was JR1 the only 1 suspended?? ..... seems there was a few others that constantly goaded him on . how long is the suspension for ?? Im not in anyway defending him , just saying there was more than 1 bad apple here.

It's been my experience that the people who talk about photography the most, and like to tell others how things should be done, are often the least capable of backing it up with quality images of their own.

IMHO there are others much more deserving of suspension than he.

".45ACP stopping idiots since 1911
Unholy trinity: Islam, the left, the low information voter."

Well, that bit is certainly true.
Ex 2 x Gold Cup .45 in PP (practical pistol, not post processing) - until they changed the laws here.
Can't really comment on JR1 other than I don't think he originated from the South West of the UK and I only saw examples of "snaps", however his posts were entertaining and I always miss a laugh! I do acknowledge there were instances where he could have been more subtle!

Yes.
Politeness, respect and kindness are foremost when having discussions with differing opinions. I enjoy these forums for sharing information and experiences and learning from the knowledge and experiences of others.
Rudeness and name calling is never appropriate.
I remember my grandmother telling me sternly as a young child to "mind your manners young lady". Seems like that is something not always deemed important anymore. And that is sad to see.
