Myrtle Beach SC is a long ways from Anchorage and since the purpose of the trip was a my wife's family reunion, I limited the gear I took. Most of the shots ended up being taken with my 5Dii and 100-400 mm lens. The weather was horrible and the subjects tended to be on the other side of marsh regardless of which side I was on. But since I had no photos of most of these birds, I am a happy camper.

Very nice! #1 is my favorite, but all are really well done. Thank you for sharing them.

Thanks Michael. I suspect you see them all the time, but very unusual for me.

Thanks Heirloom, all I had ever seen before were other's photos ...at least I don't ever recall seeing on in person.

Now you have your very own, and you did very well on them, too.

Thanks Juice. In the second shot he/she was sitting next to a small stream flowing into the inland waterway near Cherry Grove SC.

Thank you Linda ...I would normally say a full tank of gas (and an extra 5 gal can), batteries and memory cards and my waders when I am wondering around Alaska.

I would be happy to show you around ...assuming you can get her before my wife decides I should retire and move south.
