Thanksgiving Trip - Tricolored Heron

Myrtle Beach SC is a long ways from Anchorage and since the purpose of the trip was a my wife's family reunion, I limited the gear I took. Most of the shots ended up being taken with my 5Dii and 100-400 mm lens. The weather was horrible and the subjects tended to be on the other side of marsh regardless of which side I was on. But since I had no photos of most of these birds, I am a happy camper.

Thanks Heirloom. It wasn't until I got home and my hands on my copy of Stokes that I even knew what many of birds were. Too long in Alaska.
