I wasn't really looking to take any pictures of a cat. But my neighbor upstairs was showing me some of her framed needle work and she asked if I could take a few pictures of her cat, Rusty. She tried to corral him but he would not hear of it. We waited for a while and I caught him off guard and got two ffairly good shots. So...lets see your pets got any cool pictures?

Chris...I think a cat is a lot like a woman. You have to treat them nice and respect their space. Then they might just come closer to you and sometimes will even let you touch them. But watch out for the bites and the scratching that you may have to endure.

LOL LOL :D

Cats are a pain to shoot. They can be incredibly cute, but once they see a camera, they either stalk off or walk up to take a closer look. You have to be equally sneaky to get a really good shot.

I like the first one better. It seems to be in better focus, and there's less unnecessary background. As you said, the cat wasn't too cooperative, so you were left with the "Oh, well, I'm tired now. Go ahead and take your dumb pictures" poses.

We usually have black cats, which makes it even harder to get a decent shot.

Thank you RMM...coming from you I respect the comments. I had more time with the cat while sitting next to her mistress as she really didn't see me but did while she was sprawed out on the couch. I figured one out of two wasn't bad odds.

Thank you Jeanne; Yes it looks like you have cats that are used to posing. The one I took does not like anyone coming up to his apartment, I am surprised that he lets his Mistress stay there with him.
Thank you for posting your pictures

They are not posed. Their paws have been tied to the table. The reason they're such close-ups is to hide the ropes and duct tape used to lock them into these positions. I'm calling the SPCA.

Jeanne...I see someone in the glare of both of the cats eyes like a reflection? Was that you taking the picture or someone else sitting at a table that is reflected?
Just saying.

Not sure my picture is cool, but it is one of my pet. Taffy is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Such a long name for a little dog.

Hi Buddy. The reflection in Molly's eyes is light bouncing off a side table next to my chair. Molly was sitting on the arm of my chair when I took that shot. No flash...just the glow from the table lamp. Marmalade was sitting on a window sill when I caught up with her. That's daylight reflected in that green eye.
